Has anyone bought these xenon headlights off ebay?
are these high quality DEPO lights? if anyone bought a set of these, please share your experience. also, is this 100% plug'n play for a 1997 E420, or do i need to modify wiring and reprogram the car computer? thanks!
unknown the origin of the headlight just by viewing the pic or their generic
description. possible that they're Depo, but possibly not. ask seller for headlight
manuf.
the HID kit is very likely a rebased H7 kit, using a 6ºK HID bulb of unknown manuf,
and unknown ballast. ask for manuf of bulb and ballast.
the possibility is HIGH that the projector is still spec-ed for halogen bulb, thus the
focal point will likely be off for the HID bulb. this is important because this now
introduces the high probablity of uncontrolled glare. ask for wall beam photo.
given the nice price point of the item being sold, they would have to cut corners
on parts in order to make a profit, this means Taiwan headlight assembly, after-
market bulbs, and aftermarket ballasts (not OEM).
chances are likely that your car will need to be version coded by dealer to be
compatible with the HID being introduced to your electrical system.
Depo is not high quality, they are just better than the other aftermarket
ones out there. They are many reports of condensation, seam leakage,
and poor beam presentation. But DEPOs are great as their construction
allows for relatively easy and painless drop in of HID projectors, specifically
E55 and RS6.
