A friend of mine found an E420 for sale and I was thinking if it's worth the trade-in with my E320 if the owner agrees. The car has less mileage, is North American, and I don't have to pay price difference because the owner of the E420 is selling at the same price I bought my E320. So my question is how are these M119 V8s in terms of reliability and performance (I'm not that much concerened about fuel costs since I don't floor it on my E320 and still get great mileage) And is it worth the trade-in considering there is no difference in price at all.

Hope I made myself clear coz i'm tired of typing soo much for nothing

clarify

i understand what your saying reez, but i will tell you i have owned an E 420 for about 8 years, and that car has never treated me better, of course it will cost a bit more for repairs, but if you don't abuse the engine you will be just fine, personally, i'm not a fan of the 320's as much, because i like power, and the feel of the v8 is def. sumting i like to enjoy when i'm driving, but don't get me wrong, those v6's are pretty nice as well, but i think the fuel effiency is a bit worse on the v6 becuase of the amount of weight it has to pull, my car weighs 4,000, and i think that V8, does more than pull the car' weight, you can fell yourself being sucked into the seat. but hey guys this is jsut my opinion, i love the all the E class models, they are all still mercedes, and i belive they function up to there reputations.

i think that you should go for the 420, cause my dad gave me the car when i turned 16, and i've loved it since, the power is amazing, but the cost of fixing the car is more than a 320, but i think the fun of driving it maked up for it.
