COMAND Navigation - hiss instead of voice
When using the COMAND navigation system on my w210 2002 E320, occasionally, I hear a hissing sound instead of the voice giving me the directions. Once this happens, the problem persists until I power off the COMAND system and then restart. Upon restart, the system works fine.
Has anyone else experienced this intermittent problem? Is this a known problem? Is there a MB Tech Bulletin on this? How can I fix it?

Have not had that particular problem. Sometimes my left CD audio goes out but on restart is fine.

while the nav unit is 'hissing' (trying to talk to you) push the volume up button. or knob.. whatever it is. but only while it is trying to talk toyou. ive had similar problem in S class. its because the nav volume is turned down. i think
