Turn on Lights; Get a "clicking" sound

This is driving me nuts. It started after the stealer fixed the balancer which came flying apart two years ago (and later recalled).

When I turn on the lights, I get this clicking noise coming from the lightswitch area. It's almost as if the alarm is going off, without the siren, cuz the city and hazards also flash. Sometimes it goes thru one "cycle" of clicks; other times two cycles.

In the past I was able to somehow get it to stop by disconnecting the battery and connecting it while the lightswitch was on. However, recently I changed the battery and after the computer reset, it came back, but this time will not go away.

Other clues - the clicking also starts after opening and closing THE HOOD, and even over a hard bump in the road, without the lights on.

All these clues combined are driving me crazy.

Doorpins?
Or bad alarm thingamajiggy?

thoughts please....

Lightbulb Try another forum

I know this is the correct forum (W210 of course) but this sounds to me like a complicated problem. Try posting it again in the Mercedes Tech Talk forum.

Sounds like the alarm thingamajiggy to me

Good luck,
M
