The W210 project
Well guys everything is coming along nicely. So far in the performance area i have a carbon fiber intake and i just ordered a powerchip. I'll do a dyno to get a base to see how much hp and tq i'm getting. I'll post up everything for everyone to see. once i get the powerchip installed i'll do another dyno to see if i'm really getting 265 hp. and 265 foot pounds of torque, then after that i'll do one with my carbon fiber intake. After everything is installed I wont be modding the performance anymore.
in the exterior area i have projector headlights, smoked amg tails, new fog lights , clear side markers and a lip spoiler that has to be painted and mounted. Except my wallet is running a little bit lean at the moment. I will post up all the pics when i get all the parts installed. I'm also getting thies rims this week but i can't put some rubber on em for a while due to investing TO much money in my car.

Well guys whatcha think. BTW if the powerchip works out i advise all of you to buy one. It cost me 555 dollers. Not a bad price for the boost in performance. Hope fully when i get everything installed i'll be having 280 hp and 280 torque. I hope! But there is something great about it. No more speed limiter!. So post up ur comments
Ps the tottal price of all the mods is now at 2785 dollers including the rims with no rubber on em and H&R springs. Btw what kinda rubber should i put on em. I wont skimp out on the tires because they are one of the most importat parts of a car. And can i install the springs my self or take it to the shop and let them do it.

well for starters the chip is more of an ecu then anything. it boosts performance all across the board. it ups the hp 189 kw that translates to 253 hp. I also have ather mods so that will make 285. The torque is uped to 359 nm and that translates to 264 lb/ft of torque. the price was 555 dollers and a few cents. heres a link to all the info about the chip http://www.powerchipgroup.com/datasheets/1/Mer0020.pdf
so whats your take on the rims. and what tires should i get?

You live in upstate NY Tommy? Are you going to keep the old rims? If so I woul suggest putting snow tires on them and then putting some three season tires on the new rims and saving them for late spring.

Well i live in the city. and i have no where to keep the old rims. you guys know how it is 2 bed room apt with parents. the typical new york city lifestyle for a teen ager going to a local ::Good:: college maybe you heard of saint johns university. But what ever. How much per tire for a 17in rim and 8 in wide
I am getting those same rims. They are on ebay for 545 for the set. I am gonna get some Kuhmo ecstas (sp). The rims are sold out of Sarasota so I can drive to the place and pick them up.
I'm interested in seeing the results of your dyno after the chip is installed; a 44 horsepower (approximately 20%) increase seems like a lot to me doing only a chip. That seems like a great deal for only $500 and no mechanical work done to the motor. I'd consider that for my E if the numbers really work out...

well i'm getting the rims for 490 dollers, a steal. they night not be REAL brabus rims but i dont car, close enough. They fooled me and i'm not tricked by knock offs easly so they'll do the trick on other people. The only way i found out that their not real brabus rims is the size doesn't match offical brabus sizes. other then that they had me fooled. As for the chip it is optimistic but it is a big company so i'll have my doubts regardless but hopefully i'll get at Least a 15 hp increase, with better responce and no more damn limiter. I've fought my limiter before.
Important Thread
Thx for this thread
.
After looking into blowers for my car I am leaning towards getting an e55 or an e430. However, this thread is very interesting - I'm very curious as to the outcome after the changes. I wish you had the means to do a 0-60 before and after.
How loud is the air filter? I have one on my 91 accord and it is very loud - not something I want in my MB setup.
Where did you purchase the ecu flash for that price?
Rims look very good too.

The intake is not too loud, it about as loud as a G35 coupe, same sound just a bit deeper. And at 6500 RPM it can be heard from about 3 city blocks. The chip was purched off of powerchip.com My stock 0-60 was in the 6 second range (6.4-6.7). ::4 point plugs, Damn good launch, 16 in rims, royal purple coolant, mobil 1 0-40 oil, Spot plug wires, k&n filter with stock oem air box, and i think thats it:: Now its doing a 6 second flat 0-60(removed the spare tire) . Hopefully i will get my 285hp e320. and i can start doing the high/ mid 5 second 0-60. I'm just waiting to get the chip. I'll post a vid of the accel when everything is done.
So you've knocked off .4 to .7 with the mods listed so far??
When you ordered the chip from them - did you find a local shop or did you overnight the computer to them? ETA to get that in?
Any idea on the weight change from stock to the new rims?
