Subject car: 2002 MBz E320 (gasser ) wagon, total mileage is 78k, 10,440 miles on this analysis. Oil used was ELF FULL TECH 0W30 which is a newer product from ELF and on the thick end of the 0W30 spectrum. This oil complies with the following mfr specs:
ACEA 2004 : A3 / B4
API : SL/CF
Exceeds the technical demands of the biggest carmakers, to be applied at least to 15 vehicle brands:
MB PAGE 229.5
BMW LONGLIFE 01
VOLKSWAGEN 502.00/505.00
GM-LLA025 / B 025
RENAULT GASOLINE DIESELPEUGEOT CITROEN
Previous two UOAs were done on Mobil 1 0W40 which is the recommended product for this car. In fact, this car has been run on the M1 product its entire life. Car consumes no measurable oil between changes, no make-up oil was added. It took about 5 months to cover the nearly 10.5k miles. The car's predictive oil change system said the car could have traveled another 2,400 miles before oil needed to be changed. I've made a decision to change the oil between 10 - 11 k miles.
OA commentary:
No corrective action required. oil is suitable for continued use. resample at next regular interval.
