Reduce Oil Level warning message!
I was really surprised with this warning message coming out of the dash 4 days after my Service A at the dealer. I drove in for a quick check and they confirmed that oil was overfilled on last week's service. I thought more oil is better and have no idea that MB keep track on oil level this way. Is this normal?
This is a new dealer I am trying who has a better service record from many referrals and I never had such issue with my previous dealer over the 4+ years. I just want to find out it this is the truth or some B.S. that they are giving me.
Thanks ahead,
E320se

It may will be what you said is the root cause. But i wonder if there is something is leaking into the Engine casuing the oil level to rise !! Have him drain all oil and replace it again. if it happens again, then u have an issue with engine seals leakong antifreez into the engine mixing water with oil !!!

do NOT continue to drive with overfill oil. unless you know for sure how much
the overage, serious damage can result...not just a foamy thing. call your
dealer and have them fix immediately.

I returned back to the dealer immedaitely to drain the excess and problem never showed up for a week already. Looks like problem solved and very likley the dealer fault in overfill at the beginning since I have never seen such problem with previous services at another place. Thanks for the replies.
