iPod out of the CD port?

iPod out of the CD port?
I haven't had much time to browse the site on this question; but I never use my CD player as it's broken. So is there any way I can wire my iPod thru the CD port on the back of my head-unit? Has anyone done this or is this possible? Or can you do this thru the TEL port?
I have an iTrip and it just sounds awful.

Yes, Dension make an IceLink system, which integrate nicely into the fiber ring of the Mercedes, and you can listen to your iPod via the CD changer mode, quite a pricey system though.

Or you can just go the $20 path, and create an aux port via cassete tape (some work to connect wire), and the sound is just as good.
I've tried most of the high-end FM modulator out there, and was shocked by how aweful they are.
