like i said i got more good comments in person then bad ones from people on the boards.
If you dont like it i respect every ones opinion and maybe ur right bout the mercedes star in the back but still my car is still nice, i just put rims on yesterday did some real justice to it ill get pics very soon.(and the color is the natural mercedes paint navy used same color coded just added the silver on top)
And for the person who said mercedes is a classy car then WHY THE FU** are half the people on these boards putting mod chips, dropping a few inches, putting race style rims on it, and in general customizing there damn car.
Simple i like what i like and you like what you like
I thank every one who had sensible comments and suggestions thats all i was looking for, not ur opinion whether u liked it or not.
PS
Im not here posting pics of my car on these boards to start an arguement just get some perspective on the car.
I also think the pics are horrible considering it wa rainy and dark out

Who cares? The only opinion that really matters is the one who pays for the car and drives it.
But since you asked what other people think, that's what you got. Sorry it wasn't quite what you may have wanted to hear.
In fact, don't forget in homage to our mothers who all taught us "if you don't have anything nice to say...", you'll notice a lot of people read this thread you started and said nothing, until you said "I can't even get a comment."

You state that you didn't ask for any opinons: maybe you should go back and read your second post. "i cannt even get a comment =/"
If you don't want an opinion on what you have done to your vehicle, then don't ask for one. Or maybe you should have said 'please don't post a reply unless you like my two-tone paint." Then this thread would have been really short...
I remember that kind of paint scheme was popular in the early to mid-80's, like the Chevy Citation and Pontiac Phoenix. I sure can't remember how long it's been since Mercedes offered two-tone paint like yours... I'm sure I'm safe to say that it won't start any trends here in California.
Sorry to have hurt your feelings, Junior, since at one time you DID have a nice looking 'E'...

MBWorld Fanatic!
MBWorld serves as a "virtual car show."
The reality is that when you post something on a public forum, it serves to elicit
public comments. You take the favorable with the objectionable. Were this
your board...under your control, you can serve as moderator and overseer of
all comments, filtering them to your satisfaction....posting only those which
pander to your emotions.
Many people share pics to get a honest and candid view of their modifications.
In many cases, some have thinner skin than others. If you posted the photos
believing that only those who liked them should post, then you're asking folks
to be less than honest with their assessment.
I do think it's a little over the top for folks to respond in cruel fashion, but I certainly
believe that they should post both their likes...as well as dislikes.
It is your family's car so whoever made the decision should feel good at their
choice of paint scheme. But since you've given us all an opportunity to voice
a view, I'll put in one vote for 'it's unattractive", though it would probably
work well with a Lincoln Continental or a Town Car....or a wild creation from
Pimp My Ride. Nonetheless, it is also your prerogative to disregard this
thumbs down assessment.
Either way, it's an exercise in dealing with reality.
p.s. you indicated it had been stolen earlier. glad you got it back. how
much damage, if any?

no i got rims on it right now but some1 did steal it and messed up my car it wouldnt start. It turns over but will not stay running.
they drove the car on empty for like 1 1/2 hours guy at dealer believe it to be 3 things
1.fuel pump
2.fuel filter
3. fuel lines are clogged
i find out today what the damages are but insurance said they will fix it if the problem has any thing to do with them stealing it.

were MBs easier to bypass of that vintage? by comparison, supposidly the
Smartkey models are touted to be more resistant.
how did they manage to steal it? you made no mention of damage other
than fuel. did they punch the lock?

I was also under the impression that the later model switchblade key equipped cars were difficult to steal as well. And that the Smartkey™ models were practically impossible. Did the thieves tow it away? Happened to my friends s2000

There are two problems as I see it. First, most people probably don't like two tone paintjobs on cars, especially if they contrast as much as yours. Two toned body panels are another matter because the secondary color is usually just a shade of the primary color. This also leads to the second problem.
The W210 body style is a continuous curve. There's no edge defining crease or border that you can use to differentiate two colors. Whoever painted your car just chose an arbitrary spot to end the color. I can't say a W124 would be much better as a candidate but at least that body style has a full length crease that could've been used as a stopping point.
Do you intend to keep the car to its ultimate end? If you're not and reselling the car is a possibility, this could be disastrous for its resale value.
Also, I'm not knocking two-tone color schemes. For example, the two tone sport seats look great. I just don't think it works well on the exterior.

I must have dropped keys on the ground getting out the car and 2 youngs kids one 15 and other 17 picked it up and got in the car started it and drove off not to mention car was in a private drive way.
Honestly like i said i have gotten alot of good comments on the car in person you dont have to like it thanks for the comments im not losing sleep over words from some one i have never met. Like i stated u have a taste for the two tone, for example i dont like racing style rims(spoked rims) but have u noticed atleast 80% people who post on here have them. gotta be your cup of tea.I dont know why people keep saying im getting mad could care less.
I actually got the feedback i wanted im going to put the pinstripes on and im going to paint the front bumper grille to match the rest of the car. Also thinking of painting the moldings the same silver color will look alot better i think we will see.
Word from the dealer which is Viti in Rhode Island is that the computer will not accept my other key and we ordered a new master key. Update on monday
Now even worse i get a loaner for free from Viti and again drop my keys like a dumb **** i am and now the loaner gets stolen god my luck i horrible =/. Was a camry not a mercedes.

For the love of God, please don't paint the moldings either. Just leave it as it is. The one you posted from benzworld.org looks like a horrible Microsoft Paint or Photoshop job.
IMO, some of the only good looking two-tone cars are the Maybach and Bugatti.

Didn't you say you were 14? If you're in RI It might be worth a drive from Mass to see this in person
Where in RI are you that every car you drive gets stolen? And how do you keep dropping your keys?
