Rear view mirror light ~ How do I disconnect it?

Rear view mirror light ~ How do I disconnect it?
I find the light which shines downward from the bottom of my rear view mirror, onto the center console, distracting.

Does anyone know how to disconnect it?

This is another highly copied Mercedes' first. I find it a most elegant and convenient feature, along with the lights for the footwells and door pulls.
If you don't like it, put a piece of electrician's tape on it.
