Dyno Result

Yes, you've all been waiting for this. TommyGunn's E320 Dyno Results.

The car was ran 8 times. The last run was with the TC switched off, they needed to disconnect the ABS brakes in order for the ASR to turn off. (They called up a Mercedes Tech) With TC the car kept on running 190WHP (237hp at the crank) Around 5k rpm and up the yellow triangle was flashing all the way through. Without traction control, we got an astounding 206.97WHP (258.71hp at the crank) They ran the car only once without TC, which is too bad because I bet we could've squeezed a bit more out of it, the first few runs with TC yileded 187 and then after 2-3 runs kept on posting 190. Then finnally 206.97 without Traction Control.

Best of all it only cost 92 bucks for those 8 runs. Crank hp calculated by Hp / .8

Forgot to mention as well. We stopped by Silver Star mercedes where we talked to a Mercedes technician, he told us by disconnecting the ABS would have put the car into limp mode (check engine was on during no traction control dyno) So there yet may be more power. How do you turn off traction control fully in a 96 E320?

unless you got an OBD2 cable and a laptop, you really can't turn off the traction control. Even ETS needs an OBD2 scanner to access it

Is the drivetrain loss really this much in these cars? Regardless, that's a decent improvement from stock.

Since he's not posting for a while, do you know what his goals are? What type of mods are there for these cars? I assume a SC is the only way to go to get any power out of this little V6.

Its a straight 6. He's thinking of putting a twin turbo kit.
