Do 2000-2002 side mirrors fold?
I am so sorry for the stupid question. However, I could not find the answer from the search function or the manual. Can I fold side mirrors? My car is 2000 with the signal lights embedded on side mirrors.
I tried exerting some force, but there is a bit of resistance. I just do not want to break them if they are not supposed to be folded.

they are spring loaded breakaway mirrors and only fold upon impact (accidents), there was a european option for power folding mirrors this is the only way to have your mirrors fold.

I'm glad they're breakaway...hehe...I remember pulling into a parking garage and I got too close to one of those concrete pillars and if it didn't spring back, I think I would have broken that mirror. Mercedes thinks of everything!

you wont harm them by forcing them back to the door. they're designed that
way to allow for removal (as well)...and to remove the mirror cover. it is a
very stiff spring, requiring at least 20#+ pressure.
