Check Engine Light

ENGINE ELECTRONICS.....warning came up on my dash today...any one have this come up before, it's a 1996 e320...any idea what to check, i do not have a scanner to diagnose it...

Possibly MAF, O2 sensors, or EGR malfunction. Those are common, but ya never know

ya it could be anything, but i had one lately, and it came up because my aunt drove my car, and filled up the gas and didnt close the gas cap all the way, so check that.

IT would be helpful to know a little more about the cars behavior. Does it stall, miss, or cutout? What about the idle - smooth or rough?

Also, you can get the code read at an Auto Zone for free if there is one in your area.
