I'm getting squeaks everytime I step on the brake after replacing my rear brakes pads. After market pads from autozone. ( 98 w210)
I did put that red CRC paste (bougth it at autozone) but still.
Do I need to let the paste dry before putting it back together?
Would it matter original or after market pads?
I wouldn't mind buying another sets of pads as long as I get rid of the
annoying squeaks. Plus it only takes half an hour or less to change both
brake rear pads. Appreciate all advices / infos. Thanks.

I would have suggested the brake grease - but it looks like you already did that.
For what it's worth, in my car the brakes squeal when they are very lightly applied or when they are cold. After a few stops, the squeeling seems to go away for the most part.

You will find that the red stuff doesn't work as well. Before spending money on other pads, take off the red and LIBERALLY apply non-red paste.
MBWorld Fanatic!
If the noise is too much to handle then replace the rotors and pads, noise comes from vibrations , sometimes the paste can mask it, also if you put on metalic pads and dont change or cut the rotors you will get the noise.Go with oem pads they make the rims dirty from dust but at least they are quiet.

It seems like MB is known for squealing brakes. I would really like to know on how to prevent this from happening every time brake pads are changed.Originally Posted by Huachipato

Would original MB anti squealing stuff works better?
Before I get squeling noise when it's cold ang goes away. After replacing
rear brake pads no squealing for the first few brakes then squeals after it gets warmer and would not go away.
Thanks again.Quote:
Thanks Robert. I'll consider your advise. Originally Posted by RobertG

I put on a semi metalic pads but didn't change the rotors which is still good.
I end up getting new pads from the Stealership. Instaled it last night and the squealing gone. Didn't have to put any anti squealing paste nor change the rotors. I guess I just have to clean my rims more often.
