some advice on removing brake light switch
hey fellas, did some search and still having little problem removing the switch.
i took out the five screws underneath the panel. next problem was to pull the panel away from the clips..anyway here is my problem, i cant seem to wiggle the panel away from those clips. was pulling down and towards myself...i figure if i can pull the panel, then i am home free.......any more tips before i gotta bring it to the shop where it should take them $40 of labor.

Because there are additional fasteners. I did this about 18 months ago and learned the hard way, I broke off a clip. My recollection is a little fuzzy but there were were one or two fasteners that were different than the rest (they needed to be leverged a different direction). One other piece of advice, if you haven't bought the part give the MB parts guy your VIN to double check the proper switch version. The dope I used told me no problem, gave me the part and then after finally getting cover off I couldn't get the switch to seat and finally realized the part was wrong. Brought it back and parts guy said to always do a look-up like he does to make sure you get the right part. I then informed him that he was the one who sold me the part and never even mentioned the look-up being needed only two days earlier!!
