I've been doing some research on the recommended oils for these cars, and the most recommended oil i've seen is the Mobil 1 0w-40. This has a 100 degree celsius CST of about 13.9.

German castrol Syntec 0w-30 has a 100c CST of 12.1. This is much thicker than the standard 30wt mobil, which some people used.

Basically, the GC seems to split mobil 1 30 and 40wt pretty evenly.

Anybody run this oil? What were your results?

Apparently, the USA Mercedes dealers are still using Mobil One, but someone's thinking changed (presumably the MB engineers). My dealer told me that they are now using 5W-40 instead of the 0W-40. The reason he gave was that "it holds up better", whatever that means!
