Need help installing new 2000 tail lamps on 98 E320
Guys! If anyone of you know how to install the 2000 & up tail lamps on a 98 E320, please let me know. I need help desperately, I have no trouble installing it on the outside piece, but the inner piece on the trunk will not fit. I think it needs a little modification, but not so sure. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

After reading the how-to clinic from Lorinser's archive, I was wondering if you ever got around to doing the swap? And if so, was it alot of plastic shaving? Looked like it from the pics.

Hey there guys. I used a dremel tool as well with the rounded cutting attachment to shave off the plastic in very slight increments until it was a snug fit. You don't want to go too far and break through the plastic, as its somewhat thin. You definitely need something that will shave away the plastic, something like sandpaper definitely won't work.
Here's a link to pics of my conversions..
