ipod integration?
I suppose I could call my dealer and ask this but I seem to get better answers to my questions here than I do on the phone--can those ipod integration kits MB offers today be installed into a 2002 E320 wagon? If not, any suggestions for a third party product that will let my play my ipod in my car? I love this vehicle and could keep it forever but I'm dying with only a cassette deck for my music

4 wheeled car.
You can use an fm modulator to play it through your stock stereo. You can use a tape adapter as well and run the wire and force the door to close on it, that'll work as well. but no matter what, you still gotta control the ipod directly through the ipod.

Nevermind the FM modulator, or cassette adapter, or new head unit. Dension offers an interface that uses the same fiber optics as the factory changer. This yields the best sound quality, but from what I understand, it cannot be used in conjunction with a changer. Its either or...

relatively easy fix: just open the case and route the wire out the rear, then
snake the wire back to the front....say through the eyeglass compartment.
this has been illustrated on this forum some time back but i didn't save the
link since i dont have cassette - i have Audio 10 which is sans tape and instead,
has front loading CD.

That sounds easy enough. I'll give it a shot. Thanks

alpine CDA-9856 or -7 work with the W210 by replacing the factory head unit. You have to make it a preamp which is an additional part, and have to buy the ipod cable, but you get full integration!

The answer to the original question is no, Mercedes does not offer ipod integration for W210.
If you have command, you have an aux port in your glovebox and you can plug ipod into that. No display on command screen or speedo and no menu control, just sound directly wired.
