W210 E200K
Fire on SL500

I not sure it happen before in US or others country.. But recently it happen in my country Brunei.. Mercedes car catch fire by itself when driving.. within a year there were 2 W210, 2 SL R230, R129 and S 220 on fire.. Here is the picture took last 2 weeks...

Why? Is it diesel vehicle more difficult get fire?

Assuming the fire on that 500SL wasn't caused by anything electrical causing a major high-Amps shortout; yes with a diesel you can have fuel running over the engine without anything really happening. A diesel engine doesn't have an ignition system or sparkplugs. Diesel fuel needs to be both evaporated and at high temperature before it combusts. (maybe if the fuel gets spilled on the hot exhaust manifold but it's on the other side of the block compared to where the distribution is) But the stench will already alarm you waaay before having such a bad leak...
