Volume dial crazy! Volume up/down totally random.
Hey.
I have a 1999 E320 with the oem cassete radio. The volume dial, also the power switch to the radio, acts weird. It turns on the radio, cd, etc but the volume (turning the dial) is random and not set by left is volume down and right is volume up. All the other buttons work fine.
Is this something that can be fixed or has to be replaced? The switch or the radio? Thanks.

Had the entire radio unit replaced. They obviously wouldn't repair the switch. Fortunately covered under warranty. As for your case, if you do decide to replace the entire radio, be prepared to spend around $1k. In my case, I wouldn't bother. But if yours completely doesn't listen to you at all, then you might have a problem. I also have steering wheel button controls on mind and those worked fine.
