Front Sidelight - possible overload
I think I have done something very silly.
I got the 'check your lights' warning the other day, which turned out to be a blown front sidelight.
As I was about to embark on a long journey, I stopped at my nearest autospares chain (Halfords) to get a replacement.
They had the right shape bulb, but it was too powerful (it was 10w instead of 5w). I didn't think it would hurt to use it anyway, I would just have a brighter sidelight that's all...
Obviously I was wrong, because the light packed up again. But it wasn't the bulb, I tested the bulb holder and it was dead, I checked the fuses (behind the dashboard facevent) and they all look fine.
So it seems I have fried something else. Before I take it to my Merc dealer, does anyone have any ideas that I could try myself.
Thanks in advance.
