Windshield w Rain Sensor

Okay, last November I had my windshield changed by Triumph Auto Glass. I have the Rain sensing wipers. They did not replace the molding that goes on the sides of the roof. These are clips which loosen when removed. They charged my insurance 350. Im in California, by the way. I got the additional coverage with my insurance.

Since then the Rain sensor does not work. It just goes at a standard interval. They have replaced the rain sensor and still it does not work right. Finally Triumph says the sensor needs to be calibrated and that I should speak to my insurance company (Farmers) and they should pay for it. Since then the run around. Farmers uses safelite and triumph is not affiliated with them.

Anybody got ideas how to, or if it is actually needed to calibrate rain sensors?

Are you sure they replaced it with the right type of windshield? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the rainsensor requires a windshield with a metal adapter-plate bonded onto a cutout in the blackened area behind the rearview mirror. A standard W210 windshield is never gonna work...

Yes they did, in fact they even removed the metal plate and replaced it once. The actual rain sensor was replaced too.

The only time I have seen this is when a rain sensor is disconnected. It then reverts back to a normal interval wipe speed.
