Need New Cat
As the title says, I'm in the need of a new cat converter. Most of the quotes I'm getting are $450 - $500 installed. That just seems nuts!
I've seen hi-po converters for less than that it seems.
Who here has replaced one and what did it cost. Did you go back to stock or go for the performance ones?
All comments are appreciated.

I think they are under warranty until 85,000 miles? May be wrong. I've seen cats for the -east coast only- costing much less than ones for all 50 states. No clue how that works. My right side cat went out at 88k and cost me 650 to replace at the dealer. My gf put 88 octane gas in my car and caused the cat to fail. I imagine it was close to dying and that did it in. She doesn't drive it anymore.
