Console lights - help needed
Hi there
i own a 98 E300TD which i love and occasionally hate.
I like to keep her tip top but have had it with the stealership.
I have a question regarding how to remove the cover that surrounds the auto gear stick as the light for park, reverse, netural and drive has failed.
I am sure the parts are cheap, i just dont want to damage any of the facia panels. I have added a photo for refrence hope it works.

Outline of procedure to use.
This has been discussed several times. Try searching the forum. Basically goes like this:
Remove shifter knob.
Pull out cup holder.
Grab back edge of wooden trim around shifter and pull up with real gusto.
I think there are even some videos available if you look for them.
I'm sure someone can give you some links but I have to run now.

thanks for the pointers, but need a little more help.
Got so far as this.....

I'm having trouble getting the white part out, or removing the top of the box to allow it out.
Please help, i've looked round the forum and can't find detailed instructions for this job and want to get it right.
