(I know this has probably been done before, but I couldn't find any pics of it.)

For those on a budget looking for wheels with a fresh look compared to stock...

Try W208 CLK 7 spoke Aluminum alloys. I got this set for $200 and my stock W210 tires fit right on...so I saved more $$$. I'm very happy with this winter setup.

Wheels: $200
Cost to switch tires over: $20 x 4 = $80
Total cost for a new look: $280

Extras (stuff in my garage):
10mm spacers for the rear: $50
Mercedes Crest center caps in black (not blue): $100

Thanks!

I was a bit worried, ya know. It's kind of hard trying to imagine how a set of wheels will turn out...even after wheel swapping using photoshop.

These wheels sort of look small on the CLK. I was concerned about them looking the same or even smaller here. But, I think that the combination of 215mm (instead of 205mm) wide tires, H&R springs, #1 pads, and 10mm spacers kind of pulled it all together.

The wheels actually tuck a little bit. The photo was right after I put the spacers on, so the springs hadn't settled all the way yet.

One reason they may be lighter is that C208 wheels are normally a half-inch narrower than W210 wheels.

Hard to understand your comment on spacers. If you used them, it would mean different lug bolts, too.

Correct. I used MB 12x1.5 30mm bolts.

16x7". 1/2 inch more narrow than stock. But, I haven't noticed any difference other than how light they are. Acceleration is noticeably more responsive.

Sorry

I have seen these wheels go even cheaper because no one wants them. I saw a set at a salvage yard and thought that they were the worst looking wheels that MB ever made. They are an old style and with a narrow width to make them a downgrade in performance and looks in my opinion.

I don't really like them either unfortunately. It looks kind of like you spray painted a set of steel wheels silver.

If they work for you though, enjoy.

They remind me of stock honda civic dx rims, I dont like it but then again I am still on stock 16's on my benz, I had plenty of chances to buy rims but I put my money into my house plus I bought another car my integra GS-R. I guess if you like it does not matter.

Installation of ANY wheel that's not an OE fitment is a downgrade in performance.

How many times are you going to trash my wheels in this thread?

Why do you keep watching this thread if you don't like the wheels?

Let it go.

If you do not like the responses then do not ask for opinions. If you do ask for opinions be prepared to get those that you don't like. To me, the wheels look like you paid too much at $280 for the set!!

I don't recall asking for an opinion...from you or anybody else.

I saw someone selling the basic black full sized Mercedes spare for like $25 with the tire mounted on it. You could get 4 of those for $100. I guess they could be painted silver too for about the same look or keeping them black might look good too.

How long did it take you to come up with that one?

That was funny. It really was. Serious.
