I've been using my K&N for about 5 months? No problems, and when you re-oil it just let it sit on a newspaper for a few hours. This will make sure no oil goes near the sensor, it's not necessary to let it sit but it makes me feel safer. Throttle response is noticable to me but not a great difference. They state it boosts HP ~5 and mpg by ~1. The Maf has yet to go wacko on me. I like K&N because they last forever and are easy to clean

K&N to Green
I just returned mine that I had bought for 37.50 shipped from AJUSA INC in San Diego.....are bought a Green Filter for $47! I admit to be swayed by all of the net rumblings that the Green was less likely to let small silica particles to pass through...
I've had K&Ns on my motorcycles and every other car in the past.. but I figured that I would try something new.
by the way... $70 seems a lot for any filter...

The oil after cleaning the K&N filter has been know to mess up the MAF sensor and that's why I agree with josh to let it sit on paper for a few hours and let it run in case you over-oiled it. The stock paper filter is just crap and I'm going to get the K&N myself shortly.
