Question '97 E420 Thermometer

Does anyone know if there is a way to reset the thermometer ?
or to manually set a baseline temperature ?

It typically seems to report temperatures much warmer than in the cabin or outside the vehicle.

Does anyone know where the thermometer sensor is located ?

Thanks.

I don't know how to reset it, but I heard the sensor is somewhere in the front bumper...

I noticed that mine reports warmer temperatures as well.

My old W124 400E and 300E both were always right on the money but my W210 runs warm.

I'd like to find a way to set a baseline as well since It's usually 8-10 degrees above the actual temp.

my thermometer experinece

When I changed my bumper and used an aftermarket one, there was no actaul place for the thermometer to be placed so my mechanic had it inside of the bumper near a fog light. The temperature was about 30 degrees off. Once I taped the thermometer where it will be exposed to outside temperature it took about a week for it to give me correct temperature. My suggestion is to see whether or not your thermometer is in it's correct location. When I changed my bumper again to an OEM version, i disconnected my thermometer and since it has been giving me 10 degree higher temperature. It has been about a week since I have dones this.
