Will a CD changer from 99sl fit for 98e430?
I heard something of fiber optic wires in newer cars. Your advice is greatly appreaciated.
thanks
I am surprised a little that no one could contribute.
But than again even the salesman did not know that and wasted my time I am new on this board and besides some stable contributing quality posts by few members most stuff is talking around issues like flat emblems and stuff like that. Although cosmeticssues are interesting there is so much more to those cars.
Too bad.

If no one has done what you asked how can they profer an answer. You don't want bad information or merely guesses do you? First of all you posted this in the wrong section. Your inquiry belongs in the "Audio & Electronics" section. Since you are trying to save a buck with a used changer why not go the cheaper route which I offered you on your other post about using the Alpine and the MBZIL interface. Good Luck!
E55KEV thanks for you advice on the Alpine. I will go this route if the dealer can not keep his promise. He just called me that he should have the correct one this time.
I would not mind buing a new changer but if they put an option on the Window sticker and then try to tell me that all of the cars off lease come with out changers and that customers take them and that MB tried to charge them for it but it was unmanageble etc.etc.
It was to me all a load of #^**! Why put the option in first place?
As far as the forum goes, my apologies. I was a little impatient and wanted a fast answer before I go to the dealer, to what I thought should not be a tough question. Plus I was used to forums for classic benzes where there are a lot of mechanics that really know their cars and stuff that would put to shame many dealer mechanics.
There is quality info here along with everything else. It is still one of the best forums for those cars along with the mercedeshop forum.
I am looking forward to contribute and learn as I get to know the car more.
thanks
