Key doesn't turn ignition
Hi, My key locks/unlocks doors but won't turn the ignition in my '99 E-320. My wife's key works though. Any suggestions?

Checked the battery(ies) right? I just got home from being on the road for a week and my key would not unlock the door. Just kept pressing the button till it worked. I was about to go inside and pull the battery.

this should be in the W210 section, but first check your key batteries. More than likely that is the culprit. If replacing them does not fix it, then it is possible that the key needs to be replaced especially if another key works just fine.

Thanks for your replies... I'm able to lock/unlock the car w/ key fob and you don't even need batteries in the key to start the car. When I put the key in the ignition I don't hear the "click" I hear when I put my other key in. I guess I need a new key.

Try cleaning the tip of the key. If that does not work the key is bad and you will have to get a new one. FYI, the batteries have nothing at all to do with the operation of the key in the ignition lock, they are for the remote functions ONLY.
