Hacked up headlight system
Today I went to replace a burnt out headlight only to find out that someone has hacked up the headlights spliced in h7 bulbs melted the headlight housing so they will fit, placed a sheet metal screw with a bent up piece of metal on it to hold them in place, then cut the center out of the headlight I guess you would call it the access panel and two sided taped in a piece of plastic to seal it up. OMFG I am so angry I about finding this out yes I plan on upgrading the system but not right now. I think the bulbs will just keep burning out with this hack job and I am also concerned with fire because the wires are already brittle and turning black. I don't even know what the headlight system should look like this is my first MB I have worked on. Could anyone send me a link or just post a picture of what a stock 2001 e320 headlight housing and wire system should look like. This set up has no plug just female connectors on the ends of the wires. Thanks for any help you can offer
