A/C Problems?

A/C Problems?
I have a 2000 E320 that I recently purchased. The A/C makes a light noise from the blower...like a whistling constantly. It gets a little louder with increased speeds.
My major A/C problem....The left center vent blows warm air while the right center vent blows cold/cool air (with the A/C on 70 and outside temp 80). I had assumed this was part of getting fresh outside air but when I change to recirculate, the same happens. The air is very noticably warmer temperature than the right vent (10-20 degrees F). IS THIS NORMAL?? Is there some type of damper that could be faulty causing this problem?? Over time, the car eventually cools down but I am concerned about when the temp gets near 90 - 95 in the real summer!!
Any help would be appreciated.

You are low on Freon. At this point you 2 options (at least). Add freon via the low side port yourself. This is pretty easy to do. All you need is a can of R134a freon with a attachment hose to attach to the port. This is what I do. Or you can take to someone and find the leak. THis is the better longterm solution but it can get quite expensive. You may find that adding freon yourself will do for the summer.

Do a search you can check the A/C system via the A/C control display it will help you find the problem. I can't remember what the procedure is right now, but you can see all the important values.

The diagnostics tell you the state of charge, You "believe" hey it tells you no Grey area here. Did you run the Duct tests, and check temps for mono valve leak? Everybody jumps to the low refrigerant conclusion.

There could be diverter flap issues... but if you have the "whistling" noise AND different temps b/t the 2 center vents, you can be about 95% certain the cause is low refrigerant.
