New toy in the family
1. It's big, no, it's HUGEEEEE. Look at the pix, it makes the W210, and even the LX470, look tiny.
2. Power & torque curve is insane. The car pull at any speed.
3. Handling is awesome. It's as good as the BMW 7, or better. It makes the Lexus LS feel like a bloaty pig, in both look & handling.
4. Build quality & look and feel is very high, much better than the W220, of course, much better than the W210. I think Benz get back to be on top of the game w/ this car.
5. It's very hard to figure out basic controls, even for simple tasks as changing radio stations or vent setting. The manual must be a 1000 pages or something. Heck, even chaging gear is very unconventional (hate it !!!). Try to sync up the phone book via bluetooth probably take a semester at college.
6. If you hate the command gateway in the W211 (which I do), you will hate the little joy stick even more. And yep, you have to go through it to control almost everything.
So the car is nice overall, but it's one of the car that I would never buy. I enjoy driving, and the comfort that go along with it. Simply task as changing radio station, CD changer, or vent setting should be simple. Punching an address into the GPS should be simple, looking up for when is the next oil change should be simple. My W210 offer all of these functionalities at a finger tip, I don't even have to bother to take my eyes off the road for them. The W211 make some of these tasks hard, and the W221 put it at a quite complex level. Sure, anyone can consult the manual & dealer, and eventually figure out all of the tasks, but it's the simplicity that's important to me. Power is nice, but living in SoCal (we have enough traffic problem, don't need extra headache), it's the comfort of using features that help to make driving enjoyable.
So which car in the house would I like to take out for a ride, relax my mind ? Or going through a 75 mile commute (each way) to drop the kid at grandma house, then go to work everyday. The W211 ? No way. The W221 ? Nope. The W210, that's right.
Which car would I like to take to Morton or Flamingo for dinner ? Of course the W221
So I know what my next car will be then: the W210 E55

i like the color and love the car, definitely makes the LX seem small!!!
thing that sucks about all the complex controls ect. how are elder generation able to drive it, specially the ones that still don't know how to use a PC, yes there's plenty of those too.
Anyway, hope that it will not have a lot of brake dust.

Thanks. Found out something interesting, though the car has bluetooth interface, and a phone pad built in (top of the joy stick), we can't sync & use our phone with the car for handsfree. A deviced called phone craddle run another $400 for the phone to be used, we just got it today. So you can sync the phone book, but to use it, you need to dope out extra $$.
Most other car, if the phone already has bluetooth interface, you can use your BT phone right in, not this car.
The headlight use same bi-xenon projector as the SL and C class, Bosch projector. Its output can be summarized in on word: average
It's a blast to drive though

If I could afford it...I'll drive that *hit everyday!
When I grow up I want to be like Zam2000s bro
