I am debating on what kind of after market muffler I should get. I have been doing a little research and found out about Remus exhausts. They look and sound great but they are are a little two deep for my pockets. I was wondering if anyone has had any good luck with any other brands that they have used.

I don't want my car to be quiet, but yet not two loud. Just throaty when i step on it.

What do you guys think?

There's alot of mufflers and aftermarketers out there. You need to search and see whats best for your vehicle and not only that, your preference.

here's some I know.

www.borla.com

www.renntechmercedes.com

www.kleemannusa.com

You might find others . Good Luck.

I installed a Remus on my 1998 E320 and have been quite pleased. The combination of good looks and just the right balance of throaty tone without being too loud is perfect. The only thing that I would recommend is that you have the muffler welded on at a shop instead of using the connecting flanges that they give you - they didn't hold at all. As far as price goes you can probably find something cheaper but if you plan on keeping your car a while I would recommend going for a Remus.

I think I payed around $550 or so and about $50 for the install. Well worth it in my opinion.
