w210 cd changer
hello guys
My cd changer stopped working last week and thinking whether http://www.caraudiodiscount.com/acat..._changers.html
these alpine Changers would play mp3 and retain the original control of all other original display and steering wheel control? I have an ordinary audio 10 with cassette. Or should i just change the head unit to the Pioneer but i do not want to lose steering wheel control, do they have any adapters for it to make it work?
Have anyone change their head unit to Pioneer DEH-P9800BT?

Check this guys CD changers out. I bought the same thing your looking at from this guy on Ebay for $270. I got it in 2 days, put it my W210 in 20 minutes, and it plays everything. Sound quality is awesome.
It is a refurbished changer, but the seller stands behind his work to keep your business in the future. I love mine, and I thought it was a nice upgrade.
Also, if you change out your headunit, your going to have to change out every speaker in your car, including the amp. I was looking at paying about $1200 to change out my sysem. I took the cheap route and upgraded the changer. I couldn't find any adaptors to work with the new headunit and the mercedes system. I don't know which car your swapping out though, but that's how it was with my 97 E320 W210.

If you want to swap out the headunit, you don't need to replace the stock Bose amp and speakers. At least I didn't need to on my 2002 E320 wagon. You can create a wiring harness to send line level outputs (RCA) from your new headunit into the Bose. It sounds pretty darn good for the price - only paying for the headunit, a few parts, and some of your time. If nothing else, it lets you buy the headunit now and save up for new amp and speakers later, splitting the bill.
Don't bother asking a car audio installer, they won't help you. If you're interested, search for my posts on the subject in W210 and Audio (I forget where).

Jerry over at For My Mercedes sells for about $120 a line-in adapter that lets you directly connect your iPod or other portable player to the car audio system. CDs & CD changers are dying technologies.
