ok, so today..driving back from school...see an empty stretch of road...i floor it...and as the pedal is reaching the "firewall"...my foot feels a click, and the car just shoots forward..all the way to 6000 rpm..but i let off at 5000...

is that a standard feature?
and when i parked the car..i checked..behind the accel there is black button or switch.....wierd....

 

its called kickdown.

 

mv is correct, there is a small button on the floor behind the gas pedal...once you push it the vehicle kicks down a gear and bring it up to higher RPMS for better acceleration. Neat little device if you ask me.
