one hot ride

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w203/190855-memory-my-c-class.html

speeding forward through the posts....

speculation is that the cause of the fire could have (could have) been
the aftermarket HID kit in the fog light assembly.

until this is verified, hell, it could have been the K&N filter, the LED festoon
license plate lights, the carbon fiber cold air intake....etc.

bottom line: inconclusive, so be careful out there.

That's the worst burned out car of any kind I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing the thread here Raymond.

That's one of the reason why aftermarket HID stuff is never recommended.

I looked at the entire thread, it looks fishy to me. He said he was in an accident and that something caught fire, but if you look at the front bumper it is intact as is the frame of the car. Possibly insurance fraud? Wouldn't be the first time someone had their car torched to get out of a lease or finance they couldn't afford anymore.

Just my speculation, not trying to acuse anyone of anything.
