Not another issue....

Im driving home from a night out tonight and I try to use my cruise control. TO my surprise its not working at all. I tried ending it(maybe it was still on form beofre) and then resuming, nothing.

I just recently had an oil issue, and earilier before my way home, fog ligth went out(happens all the time and quickly fixed with a nice tap), and my bas/abs lights when on(fixed when car is restarted).

Whats going on, how do i get my cruise control back???

If I remember correctly, bas asr light on, that will disable your cruise control. Did you try using the cruise before you restarted the car?

Are you running a tire/rim setup that's beyond spec?! This may cause ASR errors and/or cruise control disengaging...

With the ABS/BAS failure its most likely a brake light switch bad. Minor fix. That also takes out the cruise.

Cruise won't work when your BAS/ESP is off, as indicated by your warning lights. Sounds like you have an evening to plan with the footwell replacing your brake light switch.

BTW: If the cruise stalk won't set when you tap it up, try tapping it down. It can still set that way if it's just a faulty stalk (like mine).

My BAS/ESP warning lights come on one every couple of weeks. As soon as I shut down and turn the car on again they go off and stay off for a while. I have never had a satisfactory answer about why this happens but has been happening for over a year. I do not know what triggers the warning lights to come on, and I do not know why what ever that fault is that it goes away...

The warning lights are there to tell you that you have a problem. The lights you are getting are for very important safety systems. Why are you ignoring these and compromising yours and others safety?? Your dealer with the Star system can tell you exactly what is causing this and correct it. Spend a few bucks and get the problem corrected before you have a major problem.

This is a critical safety component. Don't risk your life driving a car that is not equipped with BAS/ESP or that has a BAS/ESP malfunction. Have your car towed to the dealership to get those systems checked out right away. And sell all your vehicles that are (a) older than 1998 and (b) not Mercedes-Benz.
