i live in the uk and own a e230 i want to remove the gear change knob so i can replace it with a chrome & burr walnut one the problem is how do i remove the old one someone must know as the mercedes dealers here in the uk won't tell me any ideas guys thanks:

Turn the lower cap a quarter of a turn so that it comes down and takes the grip off of the shift lever. Then pull up on the knob to remove it.
