Just discovered something new.........

My "lamp defective" light went on over the week. Anyway I checked brake lights, license plate lamp, center brake lamp and even the reverse lamp were fine. While sitting in traffic, I noticed that when I step on the brakes, the inner FRONT left headlights lit up, while the right side was dead. I didnt know that if you step on the brakes, those inner headlights go on. I always thought they were daytime lights that go on no matter what. So I guess, whenever you have lamp defective signal , check those inner headlights too..I will change it this weekend. Will keep you posted.

The inner light (driving light, W6W bulb) suppose to be independent of brake. If you hit the brake, and the light turn on (either one or both), you could have a short somewhere.

It could be either $5, or $1000, to fix short circuit. Let's hope it's the earlier case.

hmm, those citylights share the same fuse as the brakelights too.

2002 E320 4matic 92K (bought 12/20/06). 2000 E430 4matic (RIP 12/9/06) :(
probably the same cheap brakelight fix issue that most of us are familiar with. at least your ABS/ESP are still working

more likely Zam's assessment. on my 210, the referred to lights are on
separate fuse/circuits. but it's possible TG has limited edition wiring.

Not according to Mercedes book. All W210 have same wiring diagram for basic system like brake or light, whether its' the E320 or E55.

Except for thing like phone & FSS (found on later model), everything else are the same.

I don't know why the site won't let the pix display at full resolutuion, if anyone can figure out, pls let me know.

Thats what I found when I fried my tail fuses on one side. Thought the damn Hyper White city light on the one side blew out coincidentally, but it was linked to the right rear tail circuit. On top of that, it is just the low beam. Some weird architecture in there.
