-36F temperature?

Hi. Brand new to Mercedes...my last car was a 93 Honda Accord so now you know the extent of my knowledge with these cars.

I've already saved about $200 reading this forum so now I'm trying to save more.

My 2000 E430 gives me a -36F outside temperature which is of course not right, after doing the A/C error code test it confirmed that the outside temp sensor is malfunctioning. My question is...is this sensor located where it's accessible and is the price right?

It is on the driver's side under the car and near the front bumper. From what I have read, it is not expensive to buy, or to have replaced.
