E320 Wiper Arm Stuck

New to the forum. What a great car! Cleaning the windshield and lifted the wiper and it won't return to the glass. Can't see any release. Another forum had said WD-40 on the hinge, but to no avail. Can't see how that would solve the trick. Why don't I see more E320's riding down the road with their wiper up and out? I have advanced degrees and am feeling pretty stupid right now.

Thanks for any quick replies.

Is this some form of right of passage being a MB owner? Now the neighbors are having a hay day with the German engineering.

push it

just push it down, it may feeel hard to do, but it won't break just give it a hard push and it will click back down, that's how they are.

What would we do without the internet? Thanks Z06Eater. Pushed it beyond the feeling of it breaking off in my hand and lo and behold, it's on the glass again.

Kudos.

Of course, I didn't know that it's possible to take it off of glass. Probably I need to pull it hard as well.

I didn't know it would retract and stay up either until I read a post from a guy somewhere. It's hard to get it off the glass, and even harder to get it back down, but that's just the way it is.
