Help! How do I remove the Front Bumper of a 2001 E430!?
Well....I started following some of the directions I had seen on removing the front bumper of what now looks like a Pre-Facelift bumper.... but now I'm stuck
I've removed the bottom tray completely. Have also removed the screws attached to the headlights as well as the screws holding the corners of the bumper (in the fender).....
It seems like there are some bolts or clips holding the bumper on in the middle section. But I can't see what needs to be removed...
Help!
Thanks!
J.J.

In the front there are two long studs with nuts on them that have to be removed. Those nuts/studs are a couple of inches to center of the car from the headlight assemblies. I did what yuo're doing about two weeks ago.
Also, t hose two bolts you removed from insdie the fender? Reach back up there and pull that plastic part the bolts went through back towards the rear of the car. That will unlock two studs and allow the bumper to fall free when the two front nuts are remoed from the studs.

Thanks for the reply! I wish I had seen it before I actually plunked down $18 for the StarTek information
But yes you are correct about the bolts... I did find it easier to remove the fan shroud first though.
Thanks!

I had pics of this but unfortunately I couldn't find them. Yeah, once you remove the front fan shroud the bolts are easier to access. Just remember when putting the bumper back on to use some blue (light adhesion) masking tape and the corners of the bumper and the fender to avoid scratching upon reassembly, it helps.

Yeah, you need to take off the plastic shield in front of the radiator. I thought that was self evident tho'.
