Zam, help, HID lights broke

I got the Depo lenses with the BMW X5 xenon setup. Besides a broken piece inside the Depos which didn't affect anything, the lights have been working well for about 5 months or so... Yesterday I hit a bump in the road and got the defective light warning. Now the xenons dont work at all but the regular H7 driving lights work. I put back the old OEM lights and they work fine. Any suggestions on what to look for to fix the xenons or do I need new ones?

It has to be the ballast or the bulbs, how do the bulbs themselves look, do they look blown?

possible....but to have both mains go out is very peculiar. i'd suggest moving
upstream more. did you use supplemental wiring harness, or simply plug direct
to factory harness?

After reading the initial post - it appears to be the xenon bulbs considering the stock H7 bulbs work just fine with no error msgs.

when you place the old stock H7 bulbs - are you still getting the defective warning lamp msg?

Probably just the connector that get loose: either connector from the light housing to the ballast, or from ballast to bulb.

Both the ballast and bulb aren't known to fail when encounter big sock (like car over bump). It's more likely one of those connector

Always make sure that the ballast is connected to the xenon bulb when you power test it, and give it the most attention; else, the 850V during boot can send a human body straight to heaven
