annoying noises

annoying noises
I was wondering if anyone has had this problem in their 2001 E430 and how they got it resolved.
When I have my sunroof open and driving normally I hear knocking noises in the rear right column, between rear window and right passenger window, going over bumps. It sounds like a loose plastic piece of something knocking against something.
I've taken it to the shop several times now and they still have not fixed the problem. They keep trying to fix the sunroof cover. They say that the sunroof is cover is vibrating when the wind passes through.
Could this be a factory defect or something. My rental E320 made the same noise.
Any help would be appreciated. The noise is driving me crazy.
