E320 4matic wagon
Sunroof switch backwards?

I have a 2000 e320 4matic wagon. To open my sunroof I have to push and hold the switch. It stops half way open. I have to release and repress the switch to fully open the sunroof. When I close it, I just push and hold once and it closes fully.

This seems backwards to me. I thought it should open fully with one push/hold and it should stop half way when being closed to prevent someone from closing the sunroof on an object. Is something wrong here?

Also, is it possible to wire the sunroof for one touch auto open/close like the windows?? The newer models have this, no?

tks
Ken
