K&N users
put the k&n in the trash, and use a stock paper filter.
here are the reasons:
1. It filters much better
2. You don't have oil possibly getting all over the maf. This is especially prevalent upon re-oiling.
3. The power difference is not noticeable.
4. paper filters are about $15, and you don't have to worry about cleaning, oiling, etc.

I have a lot of experience with K&Ns in other cars and the higher silica level indicates a less completely filtering. If I didn't have any other choice on my mustang, I would run a paper filter on that as well.
I've cleaned and reoiled probably 20 or 25 K&Ns and I still over oil. The spray oil is not the easiest thing to control.
One thing I've found that helps to reduce the chances of a contaminated MAF, is to wrap the new, or freshly oiled k&N in newspaper for a few hours to soak up some of the oil.
Its really a catch-22. They need a good amount of oil to filter properly, but if you put too much on, you screw up the maf.
