Most of them eventually do this. The fuel sending unit needs to be replaced. However, if you can live with it, save a few hundred bucks. If the fluctuation is not dramatic, you can use the trip odometer at each fill-up to know exactly what you have left.

Quick question... Is the fuel sending unit the same from a wagon?

i have an interchange manual but wont be able to check until this evening.
note, however, that the sedan has vertical tank and wagon has horiz.
you can also scan the parts diagrams. free use of MB if you're in NA.
