My '99 E55 shut down yesterday after initial startup but started right back up on the second crank (car always starts on the first crank). Being very familiar with German autos (batteries last approx. 2 years), I decided to have the battery checked at the dealer. The battery was changed (covered under warranty) but now it gets interesting -- THE CAR FEELS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT -- brake pedal feels sharper, car is more responsive to the gas pedal etc. HERE COMES THE QUERY -- was it a low battery or the resetting of the computer?
