I would like to know if anybody changed their transmisiom oil. I know the manual says its not nessesary but i have bad experience from my C class costed me a new valve body. Also what are the numbers when you chip a E430 and why Clk top of engine has twin filters and E430 dont. What exhaust should i get and i think thats it for now.

Does the CLK320 have twin air filters like the CLK430?

The AMG Exhaust is the quietiest almost too quiet.

NO, the W208 CLK320 only has one filter on the driver's side, but the C320 and the W209 CLK320 has two air filters.

on the E55 the engine roar tops the exaust note. on mine the exaust note is pretty loud and i also have that mechanical noise from the s/c

hubert, what year is your E430? I think there are some difference between the 99 and 2000+ other than the facelift.

FrankW, thanks for the reply.

The CLK430 has 2 filters and the E430 only one because they were designed that way. I know that is not really an answer but there is no answer. The E320 and E430 share the same Air Filter and the Air Filter Box setup. The E430 uses one large filter and the CLK430 uses two small one.s

Thanks for the kind comments FrankW.

Yeah the CLK430 and the E430 engines are rated the same. 275hp and 295ft-lb of torque.

so, i guess the dual or single intake does not affect the performance at all. I still like the look of the dual intake/filter.

oh yeah, does the W210 E55 and the W208 CLK55 have the same hp/torque rating? When the CLK55 came out after the E55, MB said it's supposed to be faster than the E55 to 60 mph. Also, MB/AMG says the C32 is faster than the E55/CLK55, but a lot of test have shown that they are pretty much the same.

The E55 is rated/advertised at 349HP & 391 torgue and the CLK55 is rated/advertised at 342HP & 376 torque. The lighter weights of the CLK and C32 would make them faster on paper at least.

I use the term 'advertise' because my owners manual list the 2002 E55 at 355HP with a US SAE rating not the Euro DIN rating.
