when I had the Depo apart the last time, I considered this accouterment
on the high beam side, then bagged it. later, i tried to imagine how well
this would look on low beam but really didn't think the aesthetics would
lend themselves to the oval shape of the headlights.
what idea i was working with was not the cold tube look of the BMW
rather a much smaller diameter cord offered in electroluminescent
lights. it would have been about .25" or so and easily shaped around
the perimeter of the projector bezel...and would be very softly lit only
when headlight switch was on first click, ie parking/city lights only.
i'm about to perform another retrofit. new Depo has been sitting on the
project bench for couple of weeks. what is going inside is RS6 bixenon.
would rather keep the classy look so if it's at all ricey or too BMW looking,
i'll easily forego the EL. reason i was thinking EL is that it's so easy to work
with, flexible, and the small diam may keep it from looking too beemer. i
could also consider color options eg to compliment the car color.
